Hand of Grace Leadership Team...

Hand-of-Grace is our food distribution ministry (click here for more info) which grew out of the growing concern surrounding Y2K in the late 90’s, but quickly transformed as the felt-needs in our area were recognized. We noticed that the face of hunger isn’t always foreign and that we needed to extend the hand of God’s grace to our own community. Jesus plainly told us, “whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me” (Matt. 25:40). The ministry began storing can goods in a custodian closet and served the first 16 families in June of 1999. For the remainder of 99’ recipients doubled each month, and the growing amount of food filled a classroom, then local rented store-rooms, until we finally built a warehouse attached to the church facility in 2001. Since then we have served on average 350 families 20,700lbs. of food per month.

Every month over 60 volunteers through two distributions use their ability to serve others; through food purchase and preparation, administration, worship services and pastoral care, food allocations and home deliveries (shut-ins). Elder George Camp (middle) oversees the entire operation giving vision and setting direction. Deaconess Vonnie Breon (right) gives supervision, management and direction to the ministry as she administrates the various processes. And Pastor Barb Mannino (left) gives spiritual and pastoral care. It’s been exciting to watch a whole different congregation birthed from the ministry. For many of the recipients, the only church they know (or attend) is Hand-of-Grace.

Learn more about us, or better yet, come join us! There is a place for everyone to be a “helping hand” at Hand-of-Grace. Because we believe that everybody needs to experience and express the Grace of God!
